Electrician

Job Description

Under general direction, builds, installs, and troubleshoots electrical wiring systems, electronic components, hardware and equipment with a quality and timely focus in order to build special-purpose machinery, robotic work cells and factory automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take direction from the Manager, Electrical Assembly and/or the designated Group Lead Electrician.
  • Using the electrical design package and customer specifications for reference; plans and coordinates work required to assemble and wire control panels, HMI’s and other sub-assemblies.
  • Perform panel wiring, cell wiring and system wiring, including installation of conduits and wireways.
  • Following OHSC rules and regulations; determine power requirements for projects and install bus plugs, conduits and cord drops to transformers and/or directly to control panel disconnects.
  • Using established procedures for “Power up and Test” perform power up and electrical testing and troubleshooting of the control system in order to enable the start of integration. Repair and/or replace defective components of the system as required.
  • Work with the electrical team as well as project managers, customers, designers, toolmakers and programmers to solve problems in order to provide the customer with a complete and functional system.
  • Participate in tear down and shipping of the equipment, dismantling in an orderly fashion to minimize installation time at the customers’ site.
  • Reassemble equipment to the point of buy-off at the customer’s site.
  • Travel to customer sites as required for installation and re-integration of systems.
  • Work in compliance with divisional health, safety and environmental procedures.
 

Experience:

  • Two to three years of hands-on electrical wiring, troubleshooting and maintenance experience as an electrician. Preference will be given to those with electronics, machine building or robotics expertise.

Robot/ Automation Technician

Key Responsibilities

  • Program/Modify the Robot programs & troubleshooting the robotic automation cells.
  • PLC and HMI programming, implementation and troubleshooting
  • Program/Modify Vision systems (Keyence, Fanuc iRVision, Cognex) & Barcode Scanners (Keyence)
  • Preventative maintenance of production and support equipment
  • Design, verification and maintenance of electrical schematics
  • Assist in setting up, installation of robotic system , start-up
  • Communicate and document encountered problems, repairs, changes verbally as well as through effective use of AutoCad, MSOffice, MS Outlook and E-maint Software
  • Completion of all required work orders and associated paperwork
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering,Robotics& Automation, Mechatronics or Equivalent.
  • Some experience in an engineering, electrical/mechanical or technical capacity preferably in an automated automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Documented experience with RSLogix 500, Studio 5000 PLC software, Ethernet and DeviceNet networks.
  • Strong knowledge with multi axis IndustrialRobotslike Panasonic, KUKA, Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa Motoman & Denso.
  • Knowledge of electrical safety practices and safe use of a multi-meter to troubleshoot electrical circuits.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Eager to learn and share knowledge with proven ability to work in a team environment with all levels of personnel in the organization.
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workloads/projects/assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve as in a team environment to lead or participate

Tool-maker technician

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in maintenance and robotic cell assembly to ensure equipment functions consistently.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot/install hydraulic and pneumatics.
  • Read and interpret machine drawings and schematics.
  • Repair, overhaul, fabricate, assemble and dismantle equipment using power tools, hand tools, machine and welding tools.
  • Maintain shop tools and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and required.
  • Electrical and basic machining knowledge is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience
